Get More Amex Offers

I’m not sure if this is new but I noticed yesterday that American Express limits the number of available Amex Offers to 100 per card account. It had been a while since I looked at offers and after logging into several account types including personal, business and authorized user, I noticed that every single one had 100 Available Offers. I’ve never noticed this before so feel free to make fun of me for being oblivious if this is a well known fact. Over the last year Amex has made some big (and negative) changes to the offers program like killing the multi-tab trick and limiting offers to one card so it’s good to be fully informed the offer details.

Get New Amex Offers by Adding Existing Ones

At some point it seemed like I was no longer being targeted for certain types of deals so I stopped adding Amex Offers to my account unless I was definitely going to use them. (There’s an old theory that you’re less likely to get targeted for an offer after you’ve added and or redeemed it or similar ones.) I’m not saying it’s true but I believed it enough to stop adding offers I wasn’t sure I’d use. This approach is no longer a good one for two reasons. First, if you don’t add an offer, it may disappear (this happened to me for the first time ever last week with the Bonvoy offer.) Second, is obviously because it’s taking up one of your 100 available offer spots.

To confirm, I added a bunch of offers to test things out and nothing happened. So I logged out and logged back in to my account and sure enough the offers replenished. I was actually really happy with the new offers including Kimpton and Grand Hyatt.

Thoughts

My days of hoarding Amex Offers are over. I suggest keeping your number “Available Offers” under 85 by adding some to your card each time you login so that you don’t miss out on any potential offers.
